The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection (MWCSP), through the Department of Social Welfare (DSW), is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us when you use this Social Protection portal to screen, apply for assistance, or send a query.

  • Household information – details of household members and dependants you include in an application.
  • Eligibility & circumstances – information relevant to the programme you apply for, which may include disability, health, pregnancy, hardship or care arrangements.
  • Payment details – the bank account or mobile wallet you nominate so that any approved allowance can be paid to you.
  • Supporting documents – files you upload to support your application.
  • Queries & feedback – the content of any complaint, query or feedback you submit.

How we use your information

  • To screen and assess your potential eligibility for DSW social protection programmes.
  • To process and manage your application, including case assessment and any approved payments.
  • To contact you about your application, screening result, or query.
  • To verify information, prevent fraud, and meet our audit and reporting obligations.
  • To produce de-identified statistics that help us plan and improve services.

Sharing your information

We treat your information as confidential. We may share it only:

  • With authorised DSW and MWCSP officers who need it to process your application.
  • With payment service providers, where necessary to deliver an approved allowance.
  • With other Government agencies where this is permitted or required by law (for example, to verify identity or eligibility).

We do not sell your personal information or share it for marketing purposes.

Keeping your information secure

  • Information submitted through this portal is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
  • Access is restricted to authorised officers through individual accounts and role-based permissions.
  • We apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as is necessary to assess and administer your application, deliver any benefit, and meet our legal and records-management obligations, after which it is securely archived or disposed of in accordance with applicable Government policy.

  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Provide only the information needed for the service you are using.
  • Stop an in-progress screening or application at any time.
